The initial finger enrolment allows the system to map 1000 points of the fingerprint, and create a unique hexadecimal logarithmic number string. (No fingerprint data or image is stored) This number string is then stored against a particular enrolment number. There is no other software, anywhere in the world, that can interrogate the number strings, as we have created our own unique encoding system.
A fingerprint identification match and authorised entry is performed instantly, followed by a command, such as opening a door or activating an alarm. Each Scan-in can manage up to 970 people, with audit trail and ‘time and attendance’ features.
When users show their finger to the reader, the finger must correspond to 700 of the original points in order to be verified. This is carried out in around 1 second. With up to 970 users enrolled, this could not be achieved if the data was stored as actual fingerprints.
Biometrics (Fingerprint recognition)
Biometrics (fingerprint recognition) will only allow access to people who have been enrolled into the system. The user ‘must’ be present to gain entry. Each individual can be allocated to one or multiple day and time slots. This is the only system which cannot be overcome by others borrowing, stealing, or being given means of access by an authorised person, and therefore it is the most secure access control system available.
Access control is becoming more commonly integrated with intruder alarm systems as a means of reducing false activations due to people entering alarmed premises without knowledge of the alarm code.
No Keys to lose, no confusing PINs or passwords to remember and nothing to be stolen or forged. Just a fingerprint, unique to you!
